Ray Weber grew up on a cattle station near Cloncurry in North West QLD. At the age of 13 Ray left home and went to work full time for a drover named Bill Cousins. Ray then went on to work as a ringer on various cattle stations in the Northern Territory and North West QLD. At the age of 19 he returned to Mt Isa and worked at X41 as a contract underground miner for three years before moving from Mt Isa down to the Scenic Rim.
Due to Ray's upbringing on Cattle Stations he learnt to drive and operate a variety of plant and machinery from a very young age. Having this experience led Ray to work as a machine operator upon arrival in the Scenic Rim and then as a foreman for a local business before starting his own business Weber's Excavations Pty Ltd in 2007.
